FOOD PREPARATION APPARATUS
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a food preparation apparatus. In particular, the present invention 5 relates to a food preparation apparatus by means of the movement of a flow of hot air over the food products to heat them.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
A food preparation apparatus 10 is known by means of EP 2,034,872 BI. The appliance is generally used in a domestic environment and provides a means of preparing food by circulating a flow of hot air around the food products to heat and / or cook the food. This apparatus generally comprises a closed food preparation chamber, in which food products are placed and a flow of hot air is then circulated around the food preparation chamber to heat the food.
During the heating process, steam is generally generated by the water contained in the food, which causes increased pressure in the food preparation chamber. In addition, other liquids, such as oil, are also discharged from the food. A problem with the existing device is the fact that air, steam or oil under higher pressure in the food preparation chamber is forced out through holes and gaps in an outside wall of the food preparation chamber. the device.
In a known apparatus, a lower part of the food preparation chamber is removable from the remainder of the apparatus, such that food products can be easily placed or removed from the food apparatus chamber. To assist in the placement and removal of food products, the removable bottom of the
2/13 food preparation is positioned to remove one side of the front appliance for the user. Gaps are formed, however, between the removable part of the food preparation chamber and the rest of the appliance, the front appliance for the user. One provision is, therefore, that air, on the disadvantage side of this vapor and oil under pressure, is exhausted through these gaps towards the user.
In addition to the above, it will be appreciated that closing the gaps by sealing means or repositioning the removable part of the chamber away from the side of the front apparatus to that of the user part would make the placement and removable removal of the preparation chamber difficult. foods.

Figure 1 shows a schematic cross-sectional view of a food preparation apparatus;
- Figure 2 shows a perspective cross-sectional view of the food preparation apparatus shown in Figure 1;
- Figure 3 shows a cross-sectional view of the food preparation apparatus shown in Figure 1;

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF ACHIEVEMENTS
A food preparation apparatus is shown in the figures, comprising an external cover 1. The apparatus is configured to prepare food products placed inside by means of heating, in order to heat and / or cook the food products ready for consumption.
With reference now to Figures 1 and 4, the outer cover 1 extends around an outer wall 2 that defines a food preparation chamber 3. An internal wall 4 is arranged in the food preparation chamber 3 and
5/13 defines a space for receiving food 5 in which the food products to be heated and / or cooked (not shown) are received. The outer wall 2 and the inner wall 4 extend substantially parallel and are spaced apart to define a channel 6 between them, which acts as a means of guiding air through which hot air flows, as will be explained below .
The inner wall 4 comprises a lower part 7 and a side wall 8 which extends around the lower part 7 and vertically from it. The lower part 7 of the inner wall 4 is equipped with an air-permeable section 9 which acts as a hot air inlet to the food receiving space 5 and an upper part 11 of the inner wall 4 is equipped with a discharge opening 10 for allow air to flow through them. In the present embodiment, the air permeable section 9 extends across the entire lower part 7, although it may extend over only a part of the lower part 7. The air permeable section 9 is formed by known means, such as as a screen or grid layout.
A fan 12 is arranged in the food preparation chamber 3, above the discharge opening 10 of the inner wall 4. The fan 12 is driven by an electric motor 14 which acts as a means of steering to rotate the fan 12. The fan 12 is operable to move a flow of hot air by suctioning air through the discharge opening 10 by means of low pressure generated on one side of the fan 12, expelling air flow under high pressure to the channel 6 defined between the external walls and internal 2, 4. The air expelled by the fan 12 therefore flows along the channel 6, acting as a means of defining air between the external and internal walls 2, 4 for the air-permeable section 9 of the internal wall 4. The air then flows through the section
6/13 air permeable 9 for the food receiving space 5.
A heater 15 which acts as a radiant heat medium is disposed in an upper part 3a of the food preparation chamber 3. In this embodiment, the heater 15 is disposed in an upper part of the food receiving space 5 below the discharge opening 10 , although it is appreciated that the heater 15 can be arranged outside the inner wall 4. The heater 15 is arranged to heat the air flowing through the top of the food receiving space 5. In addition, the heater 15 is positioned in the space receiving food 5 to radiate heat to the heat receiving space 5 and towards any food product disposed there, as will become evident below.
The air flowing in the channel 6 between the bottom 7 of the inner wall 4 and a base 16 of the outer wall 2 is directed to flow upwards through the air-permeable section 9 of the inner wall 4 by means of a seated air deflector 17 on the base 16 of the outer wall 2 and directs the air flow upwards.
A vent 18 is formed on the outer wall 2 of the apparatus, which defines an air outlet from the food preparation chamber 3 out of the apparatus. The vent 18 is arranged at an upper end of the food preparation chamber 3 and is formed at an upper end of the channel 6 next to the fan 12. The ventilation 18 and the fan 12 are positioned at the upper end of the food preparation chamber 3 to reduce the contact of the liquid discharged from the food products collected on the fan 12 and which are discharged through ventilation 18.
In the present embodiment, fan 12 is a radial fan and ventilation 18 is formed on the wall
7/13 external 2 over a line extending radially to the axis of rotation of the fan 12.
Air guidance fins 19 are formed in ventilation 18 to deflect the direction of a flow of air 5 that is discharged from the food preparation chamber 3 through ventilation 18. Air guidance fins 19 are arranged at an angle to the ventilation (see Figure 2) to deflect the air flow through the upward ventilation, in order to avoid the direct exhaustion of hot air on a wall or surface located next to the appliance.
With specific reference to Figures 1 and 4, an air guide member 22 is displayed. The air guide member 22 is an elongated member, such as a plate, 15 in which a face of the plate forms a guide surface 23. The air guide member 22 comprises first and second parts 24, 25, in which the second part 25 extends at an angle to the first part 24, such that the orientation surfaces of the first and second parts 20 meet at an angle to each other. In the present embodiment, the second part 25 extends at an angle of 45 degrees to the first part 24. The second part 25 of the air guide member 22 rises from the outer wall 2 along an end 26 in such a way. so that the air guide member 25 22 extends perpendicularly to an upper surface 27 of the outer wall 2. The air guide member 22 is formed with plastic, although it is ideal that other materials can be used. The plastic is suitable for use in the hot, greasy and steam environment found in the food preparation chamber 3 when using the appliance.
Although, in the present embodiment, the air guide member is a folded plate, it will be appreciated that, in other embodiments, the air guide member is, for example,
8/13 a flat plate or a curved plate.
The air guide member 22 in the present embodiment is integrally formed with at least one section of the upper surface 27 of the external wall 2, although it is ideal that the air guide can be fixedly mounted close to the upper surface 27 of the external wall 2 by known means, such as an adhesive or rivets.
The second part 25 of the air guide member 22 extends from an end 28 of the ventilation outlet 18 formed on the outer wall 2, where the guide surface 23 extends perpendicularly to the face of the ventilation 18 and in a way front to ventilation 18. The first part 24 of the air guide member 22 extends to the fan 12, such that an outer end 29 of the air guide member 22 rests next to a peripheral end 30 of each one of the blades 32 of the fan 12 as they rotate around the axis of rotation of the fan. As the fan rotates, therefore, the peripheral end 30 of each of the fan blades 32 passes the outer end 29 of the air guide member 22.
The lower end of the air guide member 22 extends below the fan 12. The fan 12 is configured to rotate clockwise (as seen in Figure 4), such that the fan blades 32 move towards the surface guide 23 of the air guide member 23 and, therefore, force the air flow in that direction, which acts to increase the pressure in the ventilation region 18, as will be described in detail below.
The food preparation chamber 3 is arranged in two parts, the upper part 3a and a lower part 3b. The upper part 3a is fixedly mounted next to the outer cover 1 of the appliance and the lower part 3b is releasable from the
9/13 upper part 3a, so that it is removable from the upper part 3a to allow access to the food preparation chamber 3. The lower part 3b comprises a lower section 2a, 4a of the outer and inner walls 2, 4, including the section air permeable 9 of the inner wall 4 and a handle 33 to assist in removing the bottom part 3b of the cover 1 and separating it from the top part 3a. The lower part 3b therefore forms an arrangement in the form of a basket or bowl, with an upper opening, such that food products can be placed in or removed from the food receiving space 5.
The lower part 3b of the food preparation chamber is insertable in the outer cover 1, such that the lower part 3b is flat with the upper part 3a to form the food preparation chamber 3.
A control panel 34 is mounted next to the outer cover 1 to allow control of the operation of the device, such as the operating time and temperature in the food preparation chamber 3.
The operation of the food preparation apparatus will now be described with reference to Figures 1 to 5.
A user initially removes the bottom part 3b of the food preparation chamber 3 from the outer cover 1 by holding the handle 33 and extracting the bottom part 3b from the external cover 1. This separates the bottom part 3b from the top part 3a of the food preparation chamber. 33 and allows the user to have access to the food receiving space 5. The user then places the desired food products in the food receiving space 5, placing them on the air permeable section 9. The positioning of the food products on the air permeable section 9 allows hot air to be blown through the food to increase the heating of the food due to the
10/13 hot air flow and allows liquid food, such as water and oil, to fall through the air-permeable section 9 of the food receiving space 5.
The lower part 3b is then inserted into the outer cover 1, such that the upper and lower parts 3a, 3b of the food preparation chamber 3 are flat with each other. The user is then able to operate the apparatus by means of the control panel 34. When operating the apparatus, the heater 15 is operated to emit heat and the fan 12 is operated to circulate an air flow in the preparation chamber. food 33.
During the operation of the heater 15, it heats the food in two different ways, radiating heat to heat the food products directly in the food receiving chamber 5 and heating the heat that flows through it using the fan 12 that circulates hot air to heat the food. food products.
The fan 12 draws hot air heated by the heater 15 through the discharge opening 10 by means of the generation of low pressure close to it. The hot air is then removed through the fan 12 and expelled at high pressure by the fan 12 to the channel 6 defined between the outer and inner walls 2, 4. The channel 6 acts as a means of guiding air to guide the flow of air. hot air towards the bottom 3b of the food preparation chamber 3. The hot air flow then successively flows through the air-permeable section 9, the food receiving space 5 and the discharge opening 10.
When the air flow moves through the food receiving space 5, it flows over the food products disposed therein and acts to heat the food products. It will be appreciated that the air flow over food products includes each of the air flows
11/13 by, through and / or around food products. Water and fat are discharged from food products and enter the air flow to form particles of oil and steam. The air then flows through the heater 15 to raise the air temperature again and is directed back towards the fan 12. The air then circulates in the food preparation chamber 3. The pressure in the food preparation chamber 3 increases with as steam is generated through the evaporation of water discharged from food products.
As the hot air is expelled by the fan 12, a part of the air flow under high pressure is expelled towards the air guide member 22. A part of the hot air flow is therefore directed by the air guide member air 22 towards the ventilation 19 formed in the external wall 3 and therefore is exhausted from the chamber 3. The angle of the first and second parts 24, 25 of the air guide member 22 helps to direct the flow of hot air to the ventilation 18. As part of the flow of hot air expelled by the fan under high pressure is directed to ventilation 18 by the air guide member 22, the volume of expelled air increases.
In existing known appliances, air in the food preparation chamber is exhausted from the chamber through the gap formed on the front side of the appliance through the connection of the upper and lower parts of the food preparation chamber due to increased pressure in the preparation chamber. of food. A hot air flow that includes oil and steam particles is therefore expelled towards the user. In the present invention, however, ventilation 18 is arranged on the rear side of the apparatus, away from the user.
As a portion of the hot air flow under high pressure is directed to ventilation 18, the air is forced to
12/13 discharging through ventilation by the air guiding member 22. This ensures that the air is safely vented through the rear of the appliance. In addition, as part of the air flow is directed to ventilation 18 by the air guiding member 22, the volume of air exhausted through ventilation 18 increases and the volume of air that is therefore exhausted through the gaps in the front device is reduced. Air ventilation can be better controlled, therefore, to allow better pressure control in the food preparation chamber 3.
It will be appreciated that the arrangement described above allows the appliance to have user-friendly gaps surrounding the removable food preparation chamber, while controlling the location of the appliance's air, steam and oil exhaust. In addition, the arrangement described above also allows for convenient placement of the removable part by the user of the food preparation chamber on the front side of the apparatus facing the user, such that the lower part of the chamber is removable from that front side. This provision is therefore safe and favorable for the user. In addition, the air guide member increases the air flow in the food preparation chamber, which generates an improved result in food preparation.
When the food is sufficiently heated, the user switches off the appliance and detaches the lower part 3a of the food preparation chamber 3 from the upper part 3b to allow access to the food products. Food products can then be removed from the food receiving space 5 and consumed.
Although, in the present embodiment, the air guide member is a plate, it will be appreciated that the air guide member may have any arrangement that
13/13 direct part of the air flow towards the ventilation 18.
